Questions

Asked by integration teams.

If yours is not here, write to us — the answer usually takes one line.

Do we need an ETR machine or fiscal hardware?

No. OSCU and VSCU are software control units defined by KRA. We run them; you call an API.

What happens when KRA is slow or unreachable?

Your invoice queues with us and your till keeps working. We sign the backlog in order and notify your system by webhook the moment each invoice is signed.

Are you KRA certified?

We are sandbox-registered and mid-certification — and we are an independent service, not affiliated with KRA. Pilots run against the KRA sandbox today and convert to production when certification completes — early pilots shape the onboarding queue.

How long does integration take?

Two endpoints and one webhook. Teams typically have a signed sandbox invoice on day one and a finished integration within days, not months.

How do refunds work?

Send a credit note referencing your original invoice number. We enforce KRA's rules — negative amounts, original-receipt linkage, cancel-once.

Do you compute VAT?

Yes. Send VAT-inclusive prices and a tax category per line; taxable and tax amounts come back per line and per category, A through E.

We have branches. Does that work?

Yes. Devices, invoice sequences and keys are managed per branch under your KRA PIN.

Who sees our invoice data?

It is processed solely to fiscalize your invoices and power your own reporting. We are a Kenyan company and will sign a DPA.
